New Low-Fi concert agreement protects both artists and hosts

Starting December 8th 2021, every concert created on the Low-Fi platform will have an automatically generated concert agreement that needs to be confirmed by both artist and host before the concert can be published.

At Low-Fi, we are always working on making our platform better for artists and hosts. Today we are releasing a new concert agreement, adding an important step between creating and publishing a concert on the platform.

How does the concert agreement work?

When concerts are created on the Low-Fi platform, both host and artist now have to confirm the concert agreement before the concert can be published on the platform and can start selling tickets. Up until now there has not been an official concert agreement between artist and host on the platform, and confirmation has not been needed from both parties in order to publish a concert.

The new concert agreement is a natural part of the existing concert creation flow on the platform, and you don’t need to fill it out – the platform automatically generates it for you, based on the concert information. Everything happens on the platform, and both parties receive a copy of the agreement via email.

The concert agreement contains all the details that both parties have agreed on along with Low-Fi’s concert terms and conditions. If disagreements arise, or one of the parties wants to make changes, it can be used as a common reference.

We see this as an important step to protect you as both artists and hosts, to further the commitment of both parties, and to reflect the professional practices in the rest of the music industry, which you as artists are used to working with.

Our concert agreement is an adapted version of the standard contract made by the Danish Musicians’ Union, and is easy to read and understand.

What does this mean for me as an artist?

The concert agreement protects you as an artist against cancellations and other agreement breaches, allowing you to work more professionally with Low-Fi in building your career in live music.

The concert agreement can furthermore be used as official documentation for e.g. fundraising opportunities.

What does this mean for me as a host?

The concert agreement protects you as a host against cancellations and other agreement breaches. Nothing changes drastically from how it has been up until now, except that the agreement between you and the artist is now an official agreement.

We have made it as easy as possible for you to work with the new concert agreement; All you need to do is confirm it.

If you have any questions, worries, or feedback about the new concert agreement, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
