Low-Fi Backstage with Jordan Jackson

Jordan’s love for music started early in her life. Growing up she was surrounded by a mix of soul, jazz, and reggae. 90s pop and RnB in her formative years added to her diverse musical upbringing. “Music was at the core of every party and gathering, so I learned to love music early on,” Jordan recalls.
Jordan continued to explore different genres and artists that inspired her, learning something new from each one of them. “I loved singing along to Alicia Keys, India.Arie and listening to soul legends like Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Otis Redding. Each of the artists taught me something which I could incorporate into my music, whether it be lyricism, expression, or musicality,” she shared.

However, Jordan’s inspiration does not solely come from other artists. Her visceral lyrics are cathartic expressions of her inspiration from life experiences as she invites her audience to share her stories. Her music is a reflection of her journey, and she uses it as a way to connect with her listeners.
Jordan’s ultimate goal is to continue to grow and discover. “I am always learning, and I believe that is one of my biggest strengths as an artist,”. She believes that learning and experimenting are crucial for an artist’s growth, and she is always striving to improve.
Jordan’s captivating stage presence is another strength that sets her apart from others. She loves performing live, and it is where she feels most herself. Whether it be slow, heartfelt ballads, Bossa nova songs, or cheesy party songs that she can dance to, she always brings her electrifying energy to the stage and transfers it to everyone around her.

Jordan’s favorite piece to perform is “Thank You Body” when performed with her band. When you hear this composition live, there is no doubt that it is her and the audience’s favorite song! Everyone can’t help but swing with the melody and tap their feet in the rhythm of the song.
A few years ago, Jordan’s passion for music made her stumble upon Low-Fi. “I was intrigued by the concept and since then have had many unique experiences, which have all been magical in their own way,” Jordan concludes.
Jordan’s devotion to music continues to inspire others with her creativity and passion. Her music is a reflection of her personality, and her love for music is contagious. She reminds us of the power of music to connect, heal, and inspire.
